LUXATORS

Tooth luxation: Loosening teeth before extraction

During a tooth luxation, the tooth is displaced from its normal position within the alveolus (tooth socket). Luxation refers to the (forceful) alteration of the tooth's position in relation to the tooth socket, with partial or complete disruption of the periodontal ligament anchoring.

Incomplete luxation refers to tooth loosening, while complete luxation signifies tooth loss. During a tooth extraction, the tooth is luxated prior to removal to loosen it and then extract it. Various luxation instruments are used for this purpose, which you can find in our product portfolio.
